St. John's Bread and Life Fund Raiser

Challenge:  How do you keep the doors open of a tiny charity that plays a big role in a destitute part of New
York City when a vast majority of their donors were channelling their donor dollars to the well deserving
September 11 Fund?

WOW!! Better than I ever imagined, but as successful as I planned for.  A huge success!  I organized this
fund raiser to raise awareness for the St. John's Bread and Life Soup Kitchen.  The charity was hard hit by a
lack of funds after September 11th.  I handed over a check for $2,500 from a wide range of contributors.
The event was held at the St. John's University campus at Jamaica, Queens.  Being interviewed by Al Roker
on the TODAY Show was a great hit.  The 9 foot by 9 foot sandwich was the biggest ever at the time.  As
you can see from the reporting J.M. Smuckers, JIF, King Kullen, and Caravan Products contributed greatly
to this event. Click on thumbnails below for larger picture.
