The William P. Corrigan Family Fund

It is with great pleasure that I announce to you the creation of the William P. Corrigan Family
Fund for the Ernest Hemingway Foundation and Society. The Corrigan family has set up this
fund to commemorate the memory of my late father - William P. Corrigan.

The purpose of the fund is twofold: to fund grants to two finalists of the annual
PEN/Hemingway Award and to fund an annual fellowship for Hemingway Cuban research.

Because of the great generosity and vigilance of the Ernest Hemingway Foundation the
William P. Corrigan Family Fund will be able to award grant monies to two finalists of the
PEN/Hemingway Award at a ceremony to be held this weekend at the John F. Kennedy
Presidential Library in Boston, MA.

The Corrigan family would like to thank all of the members of the Ernest Hemingway
Foundation and Society, especially James Meredith, for making this happen for 2008.

Testimonial - Ravi Howard

"While writers create worlds on the page filled with
challenges and triumphs that our characters
experience, writers often face similar circumstances
as we balance work and life. The financial support
of The Hemingway Foundation and PEN New
England continues to help writers meet life’s
challenges as we pursue the craft of writing. Ernest
Hemingway’s prose has taken generations of readers
on a literary journey. It is fitting that The
PEN/Hemingway links emerging writers with his
legacy, as we begin our own paths through
American storytelling."
