As a Vincentian I dedicate much of my time and money to helping
others.  Here are some examples of how a little time and money are
making a difference in people's lives.

EDUCATION
The William P. Corrigan Fund
I created this fellowship.  It's full name is the "William P. Corrigan Family Fund for
the Ernest Hemingway Foundation and Society".  I set up this fund to
commemorate the memory of my late father - William P. Corrigan. The purpose of
the fund is twofold: to fund grants to two finalists of the annual PEN/Hemingway
Award and to fund an annual fellowship for Hemingway Cuban research.

The Bill Corrigan Business Collection at the Tobin School of Business
I donated a library to my alma mater.

St. John's University, Baruch University, NCC, SUNY & CUNY Schools
Helping connect career centers with employers, student lectures, individual career
guidance

Essence School, Think Quest & New York City Public Schools
Principal for a day, mentoring, art advice and lecturing.  It's a honor to help an
inner city school make great strides.

Association for the Help of Retarded Children - AHRC
I am a life member of the AHRC Auxiliary.  I have been actively fund raising and
participating in the advancement of this organization for over 25 years.

HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES
St. John's Bread and Life Fund Raiser
I built the world's largest peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  I organized this fund
raiser to raise awareness for the St. John's Bread and Life Soup Kitchen.  The
charity was hard hit by a lack of funds after September 11th.  I was able to hand
over a big check from a wide range of contributors.  The event was held at the St.
John's University campus at Jamaica, Queens.  Being interviewed by Al Roker on
the TODAY Show was a great hit.  The 9 foot by 9 foot sandwich was the biggest
ever at the time.  As you can see from the reporting J.M. Smuckers, JIF, King
Kullen, and Caravan Products contributed greatly to this event.

American Red Cross
They regularly ask me to paint at their gala balls and auction the painting to raise
funds.

The Visiting Nurse Service
Another great cause that asks me to paint at their annual gala fund raising ball.

Snoopy Fest for Canine Companions for Independence
I came up with the idea and organized building the world's largest dog biscuit to
raise money at the fund raiser for Canine Companions for Independence ("CCI")

Habitat for Humanity
Helping to build houses for people in need.  No better feeling.

Army Emergency Relief Fund Fund Raiser
I organized a fund raiser to raise awareness of the AER Fund with the purpose of
securing funds for the children of lost servicemen.

Carol Baldwin Foundation
They fight breast cancer.  I painted a special painting for them to auction off and
to create awareness.

Light The Night
Fighting leukemia step by step.

The Rich Cronin Hope Foundation
A fantastic non-profit organization that is committed to promoting global
awareness about Leukemia and fund raising for research and patient care.  It is a
huge honor for me to sit on the advisory board of directors.

The Little Louie Foundation
I was a founding board member of this foundation that was created to help fight
pediatric brain cancers.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Volunteering
My experience as a volunteer at MSKCC motivated me to let others know how
they can lend a hand.  A great way to help others in need of comfort.  There are
many great volunteer opportunities at MSKCC.

Juliana Wetmore
I initiated and brokered a deal where the Hilton Group will provide, free of
charge, room and board to the Wetmores whenever their daughter needs
surgery.  Juliana Wetmore is a little girl who lives in Jacksonville, Florida.  Juliana
was born with a severe case of Treacher-Collins Syndrome.

ENVIRONMENT
Riverhead Foundation Fund Raiser
Artist Billy Splatts! and filmmaker Roddy Von Seldeneck got together to
collaborate on an artistic project - filming the creation of an action painting.
Roddy captured the painting of  "Holy Water".  Using a live model - and painting
with sea shells - this piece of red, white and blue attempts to capture the beauty
of feminine buoyancy and a love for the sea.  Hidden in it's splatters and drips
are turtles, dolphins, whales and seals.  The painting has be auctioned off and the
proceeds went to the Riverhead Foundation.

Surfrider Foundation Fund Raiser
I painted a surfboard that I donated to the SurfRider Foundation to help them
with fund raising efforts.  My painting, entitled "In The Pope's Living Room With
The Man In The Grey Suit" was painted on a Patagonia surfboard provided by
Patagonia to the foundation at a reduced cost.

Whaleneck River & Massapequa Creek Preservation Societies
I founded these societies.  The Societies are volunteer organizations that exists
solely for the well being of the Whaleneck River, Newbridge Pond and the
Common Areas of the Merricks and the Bellmores and the woodlands, ponds,
lakes and freshwater wet-lands that border Massapequa Creek as well as the
Common Areas of the Massapequas and the citizens who use them and live
among them.  The Society’s programs are organized around seven core strategies.
Together, these strategies constitute the Society’s commitment to help define and
pursue a path toward environmentally sustainable development consistent with
individual rights and a more equitable sharing of the community’s resources.  The
Society's work is divided among the following program areas: Creating
awareness, educating the public, organizing resources, encouraging volunteerism,
litter removal, vegetation incorporation and wildlife preservation. While
concentrating its efforts in these areas, the Society adjusts its course to reflect
needs as they arise.
